DESCRIPTION

The aim of this course is to introduce the participant to the determining economic factors and those related to public policies that affect the agri-food sector. In particular, the course focuses on the elements of the agricultural economy and policies that affect the sector, first in global terms, and then in particular with the European and Spanish case.

Therefore, the course allows the students to know what kind of determining factors influence the decision making of the companies in the sector. This is consistent with the approach of the Master, since, after this course, students will follow courses related to specific aspects related to management and business decision-making.

  • Recognise the specificities that exist in agri-food markets.

  • Identify what political responses have existed to these specificities.

  • Interpret the effects of different types of public policies that affect the agrifood sector.

  • Analyse Common Agricultural Policy and how it affects agri-food business competitiveness.
